It was an exciting day at the Tropicana City Mall as parents gathered to see their young, budding artists express their artistic and creative skills in an art contest organised by Q-dees Worldwide Edusystems (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd.

With the theme “One Malaysia”, the Q-dees Beamind International Art Contest was organised by Q-dees – one of the leading early education centres in Malaysia.
“At Q-dees we believe in developing a child holistically. Their academic, physical, social, emotional and creative traits should be taught and nurtured together. When these traits are brought together, the child's learning process becomes accelerated and enhanced. They understand what they are learning and are able to apply it to their daily lives,” said Mrs. Cindy Tan, of Q-dees, at the opening ceremony of the Q-dees Beamind International Art Contest.
Using a combination of visually stimulating animations, interactive play and child-friendly technology, children at Q-dees are taught not only reading, writing, arithmetic and art but also moral values and social responsibility. At Q-dees, learning is fun. Children enjoy the process of learning and are encouraged to express their own ideas, thoughts and opinions.
Tan explained, “Children are constant learners, absorbing everything they see, hear, touch and feel. Art is a positive medium to encourage children to express themselves.”
“Art is a powerful tool. It communicates and verbalises our thoughts and ideas. Through art, we want to encourage children to communicate their understanding of the spirit behind One Malaysia. It is our hope that as these children grow up, they will transfer the spirit of appreciation and mutual respect to those around them. We hope they will see beyond racial and ethnic differences and value those around them for their uniqueness and individuality” added Tan.
Rozita Mohammed Taher, a mother from Setiawangsa concurs and believes that children nowadays need the suitable platforms to expand their creative mind. ‘This art competition is not just another colouring contest. It teaches my son techniques and that I believe will enhance his creativity in many ways,’ she goes on to say.
The Beamind International Art Programme™ teaches different art techniques such as Beamindraw™, Beamind Rendering Techniques™, Beamindesign™, Beamodelling 3-D™ and Beamind Creative Expressions™. Some of these techniques were taught to the participants at the Q-dees Beamind International Art Contest.
